Although meditation seems to be very popular in our day, very few of us know what it really is. Some think it is the concentration on something, while others think it is the vision of an image that gives them peace and satisfaction. In fact, all of these exercises are not meditation. These are techniques that replace meditation, as most of the time they fail to fulfill their purpose, to limit and finally to stop the incessant mental activity completely.
Meditation is a state of being. In this state, the person is fully awake and at the same time feels absolutely calm, as his mind is relieved of unnecessary thoughts, which concern either his expectations for the future or the experiences he has lived in the past. We also need to point out that it does not require any specific action, one can be in a state of meditation engaged in his daily work and be far from this state sitting in the lotus position at the top of a mountain! Meditation is the inner silence that a person experiences when his mind is completely calm, focused on the present. Only then can he discover the inexhaustible source of love, peace, joy and creativity that lies within him. This is only the beginning of a gradual inner transformation, which allows him to recognize his true destiny by coming into contact with the essence of his human nature.
